Representatives of victims in Magdalena develop proposals on employment opportunities and income generation

In order to analyze the capabilities and needs of victims of the armed conflict in terms of income generation, 28 representatives of the Departmental Participation Roundtable of Victims of Magdalena built proposals on employment and productivity during an academic conference held in the city of Santa Marta.

In order to analyze the capabilities and needs of victims of the armed conflict in terms of income generation, 28 representatives of the Departmental Participation Roundtable of Victims of Magdalena built proposals on employment and productivity during an academic conference held in the city of Santa Marta.

The meeting served to improve coordination among the victims themselves and entities related to the employment sector, in order to contribute to a stable and lasting peace.   

The Unit for Victims, the Departmental Board Effective Participation of Victims, the Regional Ombudsman, the governor of Magdalena, SENA, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Universidad Sergio Arboleda Santa Marta teamed up to improve the capacities of victims tables in the elaboration of public policies and income generation for their municipalities.

"The proposals compiled will be sent to the Department of National Planning to be taken into account in the CONPES employment, employability and income generation for the issue of post-conflict and victims," ​​said Odorico War Salgado, national coordinator of the Victims Roundtable. 

Social Prosperity and SENA presented the available institutional offer on employment, and income generation for the victims of armed conflict. Receptionist, professional merchandise, waiter, chef, consultant, commercial, technical electrician, are some of the vacancies available, according to SENA.
