The Victims Unit presented advances in comprehensive repair in Nariño
In the city of Pasto, it was carried out in the first Transitional Justice Committee of the department of Nariño, an instance that aims to coordinate, articulate and design public policy for victims.
Before the Transitional Justice Committee of the department of Nariño, the territorial director of the Victims Unit, presented the advances in the process of comprehensive care and reparation to the survivors of armed conflict in the first half of 2019.
Among the main topics discussed are the processes of returns and relocations, advances in collective reparation in ethnic and non-ethnic groups, as well as comprehensive and psychosocial reparation. The territorial director of Unit in Nariño, William Pinzón Fernández, pointed out that “in 2019 we have advanced in the integral reparation to the victims of Nariño, understanding that with a good investment of these resources we can contribute to improving the quality of life and they can create productive projects that allow them to have a stable economy".
Other of the points presented were the challenges to be met in the second semester, especially in matters of collective reparation of which different processes are being carried out in the municipalities of Leiva, La Cruz and El Rosario, together with the strategies of psychosocial team.
Likewise, Carmenza Carolina Cotes, deputy director of the Nation-Territory of the Unit, presented the New Mandators Strategy, reiterating the commitment that future rulers must have with the public policy of victims.
"The New Mandators strategy seeks to guarantee the continuity and sustainability of the processes of assistance, care and integral reparation that have been implemented at the territorial level, in order to comply with the goals established by the National Development Plan 2018-2022”, the official said.
Finally, the governor of Nariño, Camilo Romero, made a statement before the members of the Territorial Committee of Transitional Justice on the problem that the department is facing in terms of security and violation of human rights and violation of International Humanitarian Law. Likewise, he urged the National Government to look for integral actions that provide the guarantees according to the needs of the territory.
