This was confirmed by Gonzalo García, Territorial Director of the Victims Unit, who explained that they are also trained in initiatives to generate income.

The victim population of El Carmen de Chucurí already had answers to improve employment, housing, productive projects and income generation, as requested by the Presidency of the Republic, confirmed Gonzalo García, Territorial Director of the Victims Unit in Santander.

"We work in response to a request from the victims to listen to them on request of housing, employment, income generation and productive projects and then, we came to guide them by competition, on how these issues should be processed", Garcia said.

The Territorial Director explained that “the offer professional also provided technical advice and we took advantage of that same meeting with the Mayor of the municipality of El Carmen and his secretary of Government, the Ombudsman and members of the Participation Board, to present the territorial planning kit”.

García said that the Participation Board was attended and its members were informed that everything must be articulated with the municipal administration and that there are issues such as housing and employment that are not the direct competence of the Unit.

“However, we promised to articulate actions with the employment exchanges managed by SENA and the compensation funds. Likewise, we will review the issue of training with SENA. The Coordinator of the Board remained to send us the documents that were already processed to SENA for that matter”, he stressed.
