This commitment from the Victims Unit, Koica and Acnur, will impact approximately 505 families in Pescador One and Two neighborhoods of this port and is part of the project 'Consolidation of Peace in Colombia supporting durable solutions for victims of displacement in informal settlements'.

In the facilities of La playa urban school in the municipality of Turbo (Antioquia), the donations were made to strengthen the Community Action Boards of this fishing community.

The event was attended by Edna Pulido, national coordinator of project 'Consolidating peace in Colombia through durable solutions for victims of displacement in informal urban settlements', delegates from United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Victims Unit.

The delivery, consisting of 50 tables, 200 chairs, megaphones and a speaker, seeks to strengthen the leadership dynamics exercised by the Communal Action Boards of fishermen's settlements 1 and 2, within the framework of an International Cooperation Agreement agreed between the Victims Unit, through the Sub-Directorate Nation-Territory and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

The delivery is made in response to the need expressed by this community during the meeting held in December of last validity, among these organizations, the Victims Unit, Koica, Acnur, and this victim population, mostly displaced from Bajo Atrato in Chocó, settled for more than 40 years, in these sectors of the mangrove.

The project, 'Consolidating peace in Colombia through durable solutions for victims of displacement in informal urban settlements', has an investment of 5 million dollars from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica).

Edna Pulido, national coordinator of this project, emphasized the importance of putting this endowment to good use, and the destination that was agreed upon.

Additionally, musical instruments and materials for artistic works were delivered to schools, specifically to La playa urban school, where most of the children attend, as well as educational games that foster a culture of peace from childhood and mitigate risk factors.

During the day, young people and infants were linked with a touch of joy through music, dancing and an exhibition of oil paintings, activities included in the project, thus providing spaces of playful pedagogy of protection to prevent the recruitment of minors in these areas considered more vulnerable.

"I am very grateful and happy for this endowment since we made the meetings and we had no place to sit, today thanks to this we can already have these spaces with dignity," said Alba Janeth Carmona, president of Community Action Board (JAC) Pescador 2.

For his part, Carlos Martinez, president of Community Action Board Pescador 1, said that "things as important as scheduling for a meeting and having sound, are very important for us, so we thank all those who have made this delivery possible", he said.

There are five lines that are projected in this sector, which seek the formalization of the property, strengthening at the community level and institutional strengthening from the entities that intervene in the consolidation of this project.

This exercise of interinstitutional articulation has managed to generate a series of transformative impacts in support of comprehensive reparation for victim population in the municipalities of Arauca, Cúcuta, Mocoa, Quibdó and Turbo, as it responds to the need to restore the rights of  victim population of armed conflict, within the framework of compliance with comprehensive reparation measures.
