Belén de Umbría, Risaralda, will have a point of attention for victims

Laura Moreno, territorial director of Victims Unit in the Coffee Region, announced in the framework of the Transitional Justice Committee of the municipality of Belén de Umbría, that in two weeks the point of care for victims will be in operation.

The approximately 2,000 victims of armed conflict that live in the municipality of Belén de Umbría, Risaralda, received great news from the Victims Unit, through its territorial director for this part of the country, Laura Moreno: it is calculated that for the first week of April, just before the commemoration of the National Day of Memory and Solidarity with Victims, the locality will have its point of care with the respective counselor.

"The opening of the point in Belén is great news for the victims who will no longer have to travel to Pereira to clear their concerns about the issue of reparation routes, humanitarian aid, changes in the registry or compensation, it is a great effort central level for providing the best service to the population without having to spend tickets to get to the Regional Care Center and also a sample of teamwork that has been developed with the municipal administration, "said Laura Moreno.

This announcement was made in the development of the Committee of Transitional Justice of the municipality, where, in addition, both the Unit and the municipal personality, invited the representatives of victims to register for the process of election of Tables of Participation that will have its closing the next Sunday, March 31.

Aníbal Hoyos, Mayor of Belén, offered his conclusions on the Committee: "We welcome the territorial director of Unit and we are grateful that he is giving us excellent news with the assembly of the attention point, this is the result of a articulated work that has been carried out in the municipality and the good treatment that the victims who live here have received; they are a priority and we are demonstrating this with the nearly $ 30 million pesos that we have appropriated for different programs that we have to execute this year with this special population".

Another of the points that was touched during the Committee, was the labor offer that is had for victims in the present validity with paving and works of the aqueduct, in which the victims will be used to present their resume through the Municipal Participation Table before the Ministry of Social Development.

"The conclusions are very good and the best news is that we will have a point of attention, we have been waiting for that for a long time and it will finally be a reality, now we are focused on the commemoration of April 9, in which we hope to have a good number of victims for a day in which we will remember family and friends, always with their heads held high and looking towards a more promising future", said Idalí Londoño, coordinator of Belen Table of Victims.
