Victims Unit has compensated 1.264 people in Florida, Valle
This was announced during the follow-up hearing on Law 1448 of 2011, called by the Congress of the Republic.

The Victims Unit participated in the hearing cited by the Commission of the Congress of the Republic that follows up on the Law on Victims (Law 1448 of 2011) in different municipalities and that this time analyzed the case of the municipality of Florida, Valle del Cauca.
According to the Unit's report, in this town it is estimated that 15.6% of the population is a victim of the armed conflict (9,022 people).
Luz Adriana Toro Vélez, territorial director of the entity in the department indicated that historically, since the Victims Law is in force, “compensation letters for $ 10.710 million have been delivered in this municipality, which have reached the hands of 1.264 people who they suffered damages due to the war and that they were entitled to this measure of integral reparation”.
Of that amount, 120 people received their compensation letter during this pandemic season (between March 17 and June 30, 2020). In this same period, the entity has delivered 578 money orders for humanitarian attention, for $ 355 million.
Florida has five subjects of collective reparation, one of them is the Kwe Sx Yu Kiwe indigenous settlement central council, which is in the enlistment phase. Triunfo Cristal, Cabilso San Juan Paez, the Nasa Kwes Kiwe Reserve and the Nassa Tha indigenous are in the identification phase, the report said.
In this hearing, the Victims Unit promised to participate in a working table on July 28 to articulate actions with the Mayor, the municipal ombudsman´s office and the Table of Victims of this town.
