It is the space to access, dispose, use, consult and visualize geographic information produced by the Victims Unit, in collaboration with other entities belonging to the National System of Attention and Integral Reparation to Victims - SNARIV.
What is a GIS Geographic Information System?
It is the integration of software, hardware, geographic data and users for the analysis, storage and deployment of geographic information that facilitates the resolution of planning and management problems. The GIS of the Unit for Victims allows:
- Consult the information of victims at the national and territorial level through a new tool.
- Quick access to the georeferenced information of victim population.
- An adequate input for multivariate analysis.
- Instrument to build new information with registers of the national and territorial entity.
What is the importance of GIS in the Victims Unit?
The Victims Unit and the National Information Network have developed and implemented mechanisms for accessing and using the geographic information administered by the RNI. Through the Geographic Information systems, the following activities can be developed:
- Manage and provide access to geographic information of victim population.
- Manage and support the Geographical Information System and the GDB of Unit.
- Identify and offer solutions for GIS needs (exploratory analysis of spatial data).
- Implement GIS tools for access, use, analysis and reporting of georeferenced information.
The group of statistical-graphic tools such as the Geographic Viewer, IRV, layer of paths describe and visualize spatial distributions, identify locations, discover association forms that can be global or local, and suggest structures in the geographical space.
What is the Victim Geographic Viewer - VGV?
The geographical view allows the visualization of consolidated data in databases coordinated by the National Information Network, which have a spatial relationship for the generation of thematic maps, among other benefits. This makes it possible to complement the analysis of information generated and the production of documents.

- Browse and view the geographic viewer information online.
- Manufacture of maps, logs and own data.
- Thematic consultation with the data of the single registry of georeferenced victims.
- Analysis of layers and crossings of geographic data.
- Geographical analysis tools (zones of influence, intersections, location, selection, coordinates)
- Dynamic graphs and geographical trends.
What is a web Geographic Service?
It is a technology that with the use of protocols and standards allows the exchange of spatial and alphanumeric data between applications, regardless of the programming language in which they are developed or the platform on which they are running. A complete interoperability of such applications may be possible as long as open standards are used that are not linked exclusively to any program.
First base line of trails in the country
It allows to have timely information of the territory to know in depth its social, economic, demographic and geographical dynamics through the collection of information from different registries of the entities of the system.

Visor Geográfico de Víctimas
El Visor Geográfico de Víctimas permite además de consultar el Registro Único de Víctimas, complementar las consultas con información de resguardos indígenas, comunidades negras, reservas campesinas y el Índice de Riesgo de Victimización.
Funcionalidades:
- Consulta de la información y datos de hechos victimizantes con enfoque diferencial por departamentos o Municipios en todo el país.
- Consulta de mapas dinámicos a través del tiempo con los hechos victimizantes de la Ley de Víctimas.
- Generación de mapas personalizados a partir de archivos en Excel, bitácoras o datos propios.
- Exportación de resultados en formato de imagen, PDF ,Excel y Shape.
- Herramientas de medición y generación de áreas de influencia.
Recomendaciones para utilizar el Visor Geográfico de Víctimas:
- Habilitar las ventanas emergentes (pop-up). Se requiere que se encuentren activas para que se generen las vistas para imprimir o para la función de ubicación.
- No olvide eliminar el historial de navegación.
- Se recomienda tener la versión 11 o superior del navegador de Internet Explorer o abrir el visor en el navegador de google Chrome.

Índice del Riesgo de Victimización
El Índice de Riesgo Victimización apoya la implementación de acciones preventivas en materia de garantías de no repetición, a la luz del Plan Nacional de Atención y Reparación Integral a las Víctimas.
- Ser utilizado para comparar niveles de riesgo de victimización de los municipios del país.
- Servir como una herramienta complementaria de análisis en la toma de decisiones de política.
- Promover el desarrollo de políticas de prevención, ajustadas a los diferentes elementos generadores de riesgo de victimización por violaciones a los DD.HH o infracciones al DIH.
Connacionales
Permite consultar las declaraciones hechas por víctimas del conflicto armado en diferentes ciudades y países por continente.
Sujetos Colectivos
Permite la localización geográfica de los sujetos de reparación colectiva para identificar de manera precisa a las comunidades, grupos sociales, políticos y demás organizaciones.
Mapa de Proyectos
Es una herramienta para la gestión del conocimiento que permite exportar las buenas prácticas a la Comunidad Internacional para apoyar procesos en la construcción de paz en nuestro país. Permitiendo a las víctimas, a los cooperantes, organizaciones civiles y a las entidades públicas o privadas consultar los avances en los proyectos.
