Victims know the new route for disability certification
Six IPSs are authorized to carry out the new process, and initially 1.220 people affected by the conflict will be served, in Tolima
In a virtual session and with the participation of victims 'delegates in municipal tables, officials of the Ministry of Health, municipal and departmental health secretariats of Tolima, and municipal victims' liaisons, the new certification of disability process was socialized through the multidisciplinary assessment carried out in the authorized health provider institutions (IPS).
During the meeting it was reported that, for this department, it is initially planned to certify 1.120 people with disabilities, giving priority to victims of armed conflict. "This certification must be issued only by the different IPS authorized by the Ministry of Health and what will allow us is to know and is the degree of difficulty that the person experiences when carrying out various activities and getting involved in vital situations in their daily surroundings”, stated Claudia Susana Castaño, an official of the Ministry of Health.
Likewise, the official clarified that at the moment the IPS that can carry out this procedure in Tolima are: the Alfonso Jaramillo of Líbano, San Juan de Dios of Honda, Reina Sofía of Lérida, San Rafael of Espinal, San Juan Bautista of Chaparral and the private entity Somos Medicina Ocupacional y Laboral of Ibagué.
"It is important to bear in mind that this certification is articulated with the registry of victims for the location and characterization of people with disabilities and is an essential document for priority access to the social programs of State entities", added Susana Castaño.
Disability in the Single Registry of Victims is made at the time of the declaration by self-recognition, however, as a criterion for prioritizing requests for access to humanitarian care and administrative compensation, the person affected by the armed conflict must prove a document certifying disability, which may be the certification issued by their EPS doctor dated until June 30, 2020 and with a delivery period until December 31, 2021, if you do not have this, it is necessary to request the new certification in accordance with Resolution 0113 of 2020.
