The Municipal Pact for Regional Transformation (PMTR) that was signed in this municipality, was the result of identification, construction and prioritization exercise agreed upon by more than one hundred actors and leaders of the territory, and is part of process of construction of Programs of Development with Territorial Approach (PDET) that has been working for eight months in the city of Mocoa.

The Pact includes the needs that the communities consider most urgent, such as improvement of health service, greater educational access, construction of classrooms and access roads, as well as a shared vision of the territory.

The mayor, José Antonio Castro, said that from now on the mission is to strengthen citizen oversight and social control.

The prioritized initiatives were grouped into eight pillars, in such a way that their execution is achieved more quickly.

Putumayo has 13 municipalities and 9 of them have worked Development Plans with a Territorial Approach. Among these, Mocoa is the fifth to sign the Regional Transformation Pact; the others who have already signed it are Puerto Guzmán, Puerto Caicedo, Puerto Asis, San Miguel. The Pact still has to be signed by the municipalities of Villa Garzón, Orito, Valle del Guamuez and Puerto Leguízamo.

Next year the resources will begin to be executed. In 10 years, more than four billion will be gradually invested, year after year, in the nine municipalities with PDET.
