The event, which will feature symbolic and cultural events, aims to recognize women affected by this event in the context of armed conflict.
The Victims Unit, the Mayor's Office of Inírida and the Government of Guainía, will commemorate the National Day for the Dignity of Women Victims of Sexual Violence within the Framework of Armed Conflict, this Saturday, May 25, in memory of more than 28 thousand women who suffered because of these crimes against sexual integrity in the country.
"This date established in 2014 by Decree 1480 of the Victims Law is the opportunity to combat silence, for social rejection and the demand for measures against impunity", said Carlos Pardo Alezones, territorial director of the Unit for Meta and Llanos.
According to the official, "the testimonies of the Colombian victims of this scourge have promoted actions to stop gender violence against women, girls and adolescents in the armed conflict and outside it, and so that what happened to them does not happen again. We will continue working to commit all the institutions that are part of the National System of Attention and Integral Reparation to Victims (SNARIV) and sectors of society, with the effective eradication of sexual violence for a stable and lasting peace", he concluded.
The event, which will be held in the auditorium facilities of the departmental Library, will have a varied agenda that includes symbolic and cultural events, in order to recognize women affected by these events in the context of armed conflict.
