“I Came to Give You My Voice", this is how Bolívar celebrates the Day of Dignity for Victims of Sexual Violence

The Heart of Women in the municipality of Turbaco, will be the setting for the commemoration, which will gather more than 150 women from social organizations throughout the country, this Friday, June 28 at 9 in the morning.

With symbolic and cultural acts, reading of testimonies and artistic manifestations, homage will be paid to the victims of sexual violence in Turbaco (Bolívar).

The commemoration will be attended by the General Director of the Unit for Victims, Ramón Rodríguez Andrade and delegates of the Presidential Council for Equality of Women, the Department for Social Prosperity (DPS), the Historical Memory Center, as well as officials of departmental and municipal entities.

The agenda, built by the League of Displaced Women, Narrate to Live and   Afromupaz   , includes a symbolic act of opening by the Nasa women from indigenous chapter of Cauca, staging of the work Truth of Women and a march with flowers to the monument built in the City of Women in honor of the victims .

The most significant act of the commemoration will be the stories of victims, at a time called “I Came to Give you My Voice”, where delegates from the National Government, will read the letters written by hand by them and reflect the pain, as well as the resilience regarding the victimizing acts.

Prior to this event, the Unit for Victims will accompany the participating organizations in the days of socialization of experiences and works, together with the League of Displaced Women, in the reconstruction of the mural located in the City of Women in Turbaco, headquarters of this organization consisting of survivors from the city of Cartagena and the Montes de María.

The commemoration will take place this Friday, June 28 in the City of Women in the municipality of Turbaco (Bolívar), at 9 o'clock in the morning.
