In Apartadó, the Unit accompanied the inclusion parade
The activity organized by the LGBTI population, within the framework of the International Day of Sexual Diversity, allowed accompaniment from the institutions for victims of the conflict, served with a differential approach.
With a colorful caravan, which departed from central park Ortiz de Apartadó, the International Day of Sexual Diversity was commemorated, an event that had the participation of around one thousand people, between invited delegations and participating institutions.
This commemoration, organized by the sexually diverse population of Apartadó, was framed in a message of inclusion, tolerance and respect for the rights of this population, which was also affected by the conflict and is still a victim of discrimination.
"The Unit for Victims joined this commemoration because from the institution we work to promote the inclusive and respectful treatment of LGBTI community, who are victims; from the differential approach and rights, "explained Elizabeth Granada Ríos, director of the Unit for Victims in the territorial Urabá-Darién.
This population has been made visible and linked effectively to the participatory spaces promoted by the Unit, as established by the Victims Law, such as the effective participation tables, in which space is granted for LGBT representatives.
"The invitation is for this inclusive parade, to make our rights visible and to send a message of inclusion and respect, we thank all those who accompany us, among them the Unit for Victims," said Elvis Zuluaga, from the LGBTI community and organizer of the parade.
In the territorial direction Urabá-Darién, according to the Unified Registry of Victims, 288 LGBTI people have been victimized in the context of the conflict, for different facts, being displacement, crimes against sexual freedom and integrity, threat, homicide, those with the greatest number of occurrence.
