With the delivery of compensation and symbolic acts, Human Rights Day was commemorated in Barrancabermeja

The events were accompanied by officials from the Unit, the Mayor's Office and by members of the Municipal Participation Table.

Through various events supported by the Unit for Victims, the city of Barrancabermeja (Santander) commemorated Human Rights Day.

The day of Thursday, December 10, began with the delivery, by the Unit for Victims, of 75 letters of compensation for a value close to 605 million pesos, which benefited victims of both the Oil Port and Yondo.

The compensation was delivered at Barrancabermeja Regional Victim Assistance Center (CRAV) and was headed by the director of the Unit in Magdalena Medio, Amparo Chicué, and by the municipal government secretary, Leonardo Gómez.

Later, on the outskirts of the CRAV itself, the Victims' Participation Table carried out a symbolic and memorial action through a mandala with photos of murdered leaders and human rights defenders.

Finally, at night, a gala dinner was held for 50 leaders of Barrancabermeja, in recognition of their work in defense of human rights. The event was organized by la Victim Participation Table and had the support of the Mayor's Office and the Victims Unit.
