The Unit joins commemorative events of this September 21st, restating its commitment to those most affected by violence.
In the commemoration of the International Day of Peace, this September 21st, the Unit for the Victims restates its commitment to those most affected by violence, working to apply all the actions that are the main focus of the Final Agreement with the FARC.
In 1981, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed September’s third Tuesday as the International Day of Peace to strengthen peace ideals worldwide.
To date, some advances presented by the Unit for the Victims are:
Since 2017, the Unit has placed 1,673,602 humanitarian assistance transfers to 269,000 forced displacement victims’ household. As for humanitarian aid, from 2017 to July 31st, 2021, 3,144 money orders have been placed for victims of events different from forced displacement who claimed to live in a PDET municipality.
The Unit has also made progress updating the return and relocation protocol for both ethnic peoples and communities, as well as for non-ethnic communities, taking into account the aforementioned approaches and improving the development of the community route aimed at support during the process.
Likewise, there are a total of 784 Collective Reparation Subjects included in the program (513 ethnic subjects, 216 non-ethnic subjects, and 55 subjects from organizations and groups). In addition, 182 Subjects have an approved or protocolized Integral Collective Reparation Plan.
In this sense, 1,846 reparation actions have been applied for the benefit of 176 Collective Reparation Subjects. Of the total number of applied actions, 39% correspond to implementation in PDET municipalities (729 actions). Progress was also made in the compensation of 55 Ethnic Subjects with an investment close to 14,409 million COP.
On the other hand, with an investment close to $48,776 million COP for the acquisition, endowment and delivery of goods for collective use, there was the delivery of school furniture, agricultural machinery, technological and peripheral elements, musical instruments, sports elements, vehicles such as trucks and dump trucks, among other things, benefiting 131 Collective Reparation Subjects.
As far as psychosocial care is concerned, there are psychosocial professionals strengthening coverage in all the Regional Centers for Victims Attention.
Regarding victims abroad, the return protocol has been strengthened: since August 2018, of the 2,340 historically supported victims abroad, 1,503 have been supported through their return or relocation process.
