Unit delivered allocations for 13 schools in Chaparral

The educational institutions benefited from the furniture were prioritized by receiving children from returned families, victims of violence in this municipality of Tolima.

Within the framework of the delivery processes of Special Community Accompaniment Schemes, which the Victims Unit advances, through the Central territory in the department of Tolima, 13 educational institutions in the municipality of Chaparral received provision of school furniture for a value of $ 73,475,544.

The investment favors the victim population of forced displacement, returned and relocated in the municipality of Chaparral and that, as an educational community, belongs to these schools in which a process of identification of needs was made and then the prioritization and formulation of the project, in a coordinated work between the local government and the Unit.

 “I thank the Victims Unit in a very special way, for having had the projection and execution of these projects, which communities like so much, especially the victims; since today the education sector needs the help of the Government, and in this case because the Unit has made its important contribution”, was expressed by Mayor Humberto Buenaventura Lasso

The president also stressed that this is a municipality that has been working hand in hand with the Unit and the other State entities that are part of the National System of Comprehensive Assistance and Reparation for Victims (SNARIV).

For her part of the director of the Central Territorial Unit of the Victims Unit, María José Dangond David, stressed the benefit that this type of aid represents for the victim community and stressed “that this is a municipality prioritized in the Development Program of Territorial Schemes, PDET, and in which processes are implemented to improve the quality of life of thousands of people who were affected by the armed conflict, who have returned in an important way to this municipality”, Dangond David concluded.

Chaparral, located in the south of the department, is one of the municipalities of Tolima, which concentrates the largest number of people affected by the armed conflict; According to the Unique Registry of Victims RUV, to date there are 10,742 victims registered.
