Management team of the Unit for Victims answered the citizens' doubts

Through a Facebook Live, the general director and the directors of Inter-institutional Management, Reparation and Social and Humanitarian Management of the entity answered the doubts, questions and concerns of the people affected by the conflict.

Reiterating that the entity has not stopped with the care issues during the health emergency generated by COVID-19, the general director of the Victims Unit, Ramón Alberto Rodríguez, together withAura Helena Acevedo, Director of Interinstitutional Management; Enrique Ardila Franco, Director of Repair; and Héctor Gabriel Camelo Ramírez, director of Social and Humanitarian Management; for two hours and virtually they answered more than 2.000 questions from nearly 500 victims of the conflict who connected through Facebook.

Ramón Rodríguez revealed that "during the health emergency, more than 70.000 indemnities have been delivered, with an investment of more than 450.000 million pesos, which shows that we have not stopped the care and assistance processes, according to the available resources".

Faced with a question from one of the victims about the compensation, whose deadlines expired in September, the official replied: “In the framework of the pandemic we had a series of difficulties since events with more than 50 people could not be held to carry out the delivery of these letters and various strategies were adopted to be able to carry out these deliveries, through 4-72 and banking the victims”.

“If the person has already been recognized through an administrative act, the commitment is that his check letter arrives so that the collection can be made. We know that there are letters that expired on September 30, so we are doing the exercise with the bank to automatically extend them and be able to meet the victims".

Aura Helena Acevedo, Director of Interinstitutional Management, assured that the Unit is carrying out a process of articulating the management of offers from the different entities that make up the National System for Comprehensive Attention and Reparation to Victims (SNARIV) and that it has programs that can benefit to the victims of conflict. “For the specific case of housing, it is important to point out that the Ministry of Housing has three housing programs called Casa Digna, Semillero de Propietarios and Mi Casa Ya; Several of these programs have a 100% subsidy and the victim population will be able to find all the information on the page of the Ministry of Housing and on the SNARIV portal and, on this last page, they will be able to find all the social offer that the entities of the Government in favor of the population affected by the conflict”, he explained.

“The Victims Unit has an articulation with an education table, in this instance all the existing offers apart from ICETEX are identified. Each of the territorial directorates of the Unit is processing special offers on education in favor of the victim population", added the official.

The director of the Unit also announced that 320,000 victims have received humanitarian assistance transfers. "An investment of more than 200,000 million pesos has been made in the framework of the pandemic," he said.

Finally, the management team of the Unit reiterated two appeals to the population victims of the conflict. The first of them is that they are not fooled, since all the procedures before the entity are free and do not need intermediaries and the second call is that all the information that is delivered through these virtual strategies is disseminated among the same population to that everyone can know first-hand the information about the entity's actions in favor of them.
