Everything ready for the opening of Cartagena Regional Center
The CRAV has the capacity to attend to the more than 100.000 victims registered in Cartagena and neighboring municipalities, and will have 30 care modules, 11 offices for the institutional offer, auditorium, toy library, workshop, cafeteria and infirmary.
The start-up of the Regional Care Center (CRAV) in Cartagena, the project to build a Center in El Carmen de Bolívar for the victims of the Montes de María and the review of the security situation in the department, were part of the work schedule developed by the national director of the Unit, Ramón Rodríguez, in Cartagena.
At the Regional Center for Attention to Victims, which is about to be inaugurated, he took a tour with the governor (e) of Bolívar, Álvaro Redondo; the Secretary of the Interior of Cartagena, David Múnera; the departmental victims secretary, Rosario Ricardo, and the territorial director of the Unit in Bolívar and San Andrés, Miledy Galeano Paz.
"We had the opportunity to lay the first stone, today we are happy because we are fulfilling the victims of Cartagena, we celebrate that the works are completed", and added "how good today, National Human Rights Day, that we are here reviewing the works aimed at strengthening the entire public policy of victims".
Regarding the opening date theDirector Rodríguez stated: "We have to review with the territorial entities the regulatory decrees to guarantee the attention and strict biosafety measures to the victims and to our officials. We will soon give a date to start with the care in this Center".
For his part, the governor (e) of Bolívar, Álvaro Redondo, indicated that "we are coordinating with the Unit and the District the opening so that the victims can have access to the institutional offer. The commitment with the victims is unconditional and we are working to continue delivering this type of work to the department".
The Secretary of the Interior, David Múnera, thanked the national government for its commitment: "We highlight the presence of the Unit, this is part of the governments' commitments to give the best to the victims. I think this is a reflection of the concerns that they have and need for the victims to have all the guarantees of a Social State of Law".
The agenda included important issues for the department such as the construction of a Regional Center for the Montes de María and coordinated care with the territorial entities to strengthen security in the territory, given the recent events that generated displacement of families and the special protection of leaders of the area.
"We have a lot of experience for the regional centers to function properly and the greatest commitment is in the municipal governments. We are going to make a work schedule to fulfill the commitment with the victims of Montes de María, allocate the corresponding resources and sign the agreement to deliver to the victims a Regional Center that will be located in the municipality of El Carmen de Bolívar", said the director of the Unit.
Regarding the security issue, he stated that "we know the capacities of the municipal entities and we are going to carry out coordinated actions to attend to humanitarian emergencies as part of the accompaniment by the Unit."
"The dynamics are changing in the territory, so it is important to generate scenarios for the construction of Contingency plans with the communities and support the municipalities in prevention issues," he added.
The director general's agenda in Cartagena concluded with the delivery of letters of compensation to victims for a value that exceeds 40 million pesos to elderly people, prioritized by the system or people with disabilities.
In Bolívar, according to the Single Registry of Victims, more than 364,000 victims are subject to attention from the State and in the District 73,000.
