Chámeza Weavers seek to change the vision of their municipality
With the Interlacing strategy, the Victims Unit and the Chámeza community in Casanare, reconstruct the collective imaginary created by the armed conflict.
In order to contribute to the reconstruction of the social fabric, regain confidence and strengthen the coexistence, weavers of Chámeza municipality, in Casanare, met for the second time, to learn to express their feelings and identify the collective imaginary that Over the years they have been generated by the armed conflict.
“Fear of greeting armed groups in general, women should not have contact with the military, the municipality was a dangerous place to visit, it was better that the army did not make a presence, since this caused that there were attacks against us by members of guerrilla and they did not allow religious meetings”, are some of the imaginary that Hector Francisco Romero remembers 54 years of age, survivor of armed conflict and member of the group of Weavers of this municipality.
The work carried out by the Unit with this community seeks to address the social practices component, the transformation of local scenarios and collective grievances, so that the Chámeza community manages to face the fears generated by the war so that they can recover their social practices and propitiate the dignification of its history.
On this issue, the territorial director for Meta and Llanos Orientales, Carlos Arturo Pardo Alezones stressed that, “recovering and dignifying the communities that have suffered violence closely is one of the main objectives we have with the realization of the Interlacing Strategy".
