Amazon ethnic communities identified reparative actions

Advancing the route of collective reparation, the Victims Unit worked with five subjects of collective reparation that bring together the towns, communities and shelters of the so-called Amazon axis, belonging to the Aticoya, Azcaita, Acitam, Cappiul and Cihtacoyd communities.

The Victims Unit, through the team of ethnic affairs management of Meta and Llanos eastern territorial management, carried out a day to formulate reparative actions with indigenous peoples of Amazonas.

Juan Felipe Acosta, director (e) of the Victims Unit in Meta and Eastern Llanos, stressed that “from June 23 to 30, 2019, we work institutionally with five subjects of collective reparation that bring together the peoples, communities and guards of the called Amazonas axis, belonging to the Aticoya, Azcaita, Acitam, Capiul and Cihtacoyd communities, with whom we are advancing in the route of ethnic collective reparation, identifying the reparation measures that must be related to the damage, while responding to what the community identified as a community response strategy for prevention or mitigation”.

These actions are framed in Decree Law 4633 of 2011, and under the parameters of Resolution 0334 of 2016 that adopted the protocol of effective participation "Word of life", of the indigenous victims of Amazonas, department that has 16 subjects of ethnic collective reparation that work with the accompaniment of the entity, in the formulation of Comprehensive Collective Repair Plans (Pirc) through a single prior consultation process.

"The entity, through this route, recognizes the multiple effects that the indigenous communities of the country experienced in the context of armed conflict and advances in the fulfillment of each phase of the care process to guarantee effective reparation", concluded the territorial director (e).
