Victims of the municipalities of Urabá and Darién received food kits
This humanitarian aid in kind was delivered within the framework of the preventive isolation generated by COVID-19 and is aimed at the victim population in extreme vulnerability.
In compliance with the commitments acquired by the national government, in the context of the country's health emergency, the territorial Urabá-Darién of the Victims Unit, in coordination with the mayors of 13 territorial entities, delivered 3,000 food kits to victims in extreme vulnerability and who were not receiving resources or aid through other State programs.
These grants in kind were transferred to the municipalities, whose administrations, in coordination with the Victims' Participation tables, were in charge of supplying the information of the possible beneficiaries, which was subsequently verified with the bases of the Victims Unit.
The delivery of these grants was part of the topics addressed in the "Great dialogue with victims in the time of COVID-19", a space in which concerns about these and other actions of care, assistance and reparation that are coming were resolved carried out by the Unit in the regions. Members of Urabá and Darién participation tables participated in this scenario, in Antioquia and Chocó tables.
The director of the territorial Unit in this region of the country, Elizabeth Granada Ríos, accompanied the tables and highlighted in the balance of the meeting that up to the month of May the victims in Urabá and Darién have received 18.688 humanitarian aid money orders of $10.378 million for the components housing and food, in this period, with a cut to May.
Likewise, he pointed out that between March and the current emergency period, more than 430 indemnities have been delivered, following prevention protocols, using different strategies and established criteria.
