The Victims Unit also reached other communities subject to collective reparation in Belén de los Andaquíes and La Montañita to bring food.
The Victims Unit traveled to different rural areas of Florencia, capital of Caquetá, to deliver 211 food packages, distributed between two reservations and an indigenous council.
Yhina Paola Lombana, director of Caquetá-Huila territory, pointed out that the beneficiaries of collective reparation ethnic groups obey the indigenous reservations Nasa Wesx La Gaitana, Embera Chamí Honduras and two coreguaje councils.
“This is the second part of the delivery of food packages that the Unit has carried out in Caquetá in the context of the pandemic. Initially, the municipalities received 1.200 kits granted especially for people in a high state of vulnerability through support and coordination with the mayors, and now 211 for indigenous communities”, said Lombana.
She added that subjects of collective reparations were also benefited in Belén de los Andaquíes, in the town of Puerto Torres, Portal La Mono and in the municipality of La Montañita.
With food these communities ensure their food and supply of essential nutrients. The packages are made up of rice, pasta, beans, canned food, oil, cookies, brown sugar, powdered milk, lentils, and chocolate, among others.
Lombana assured that "this delivery was carried out by the Victims Unit complying with a protrigorous biosecurity policy both when transporting the merchandise and when arriving in the community, guaranteeing that they are not exposed to the health emergency".
Finally, the official thanked the municipalities of Florence and the other municipalities for their support in conducting the censuses and logistical support for the respective delivery.
