Bogotá, D.C.Bogotá, D.C.

The Unit for the Victims General Director, Ramon Rodriguez, announced that from July 22nd, 2021, Efecty will be the operator in charge of paying Humanitarian Assistance transfers to victims.

"We are going to resume Humanitarian Aid payments, as well as payment for Return and Relocation issues and for subsidiarity mechanisms that are in place for the different municipalities," explained the Unit´s Director.

According to Rodriguez, Efecty’s selection process happened through an auction on the Colombia Buys Efficient platform, and this will allow 50% savings in the mediation cost.

The Director revealed there are more than 10,000 points that will allow securing these aids payments to the conflict victims: “We are going to use our channels, as well as a contact process through messages and calls, so the victims have full knowledge of the payment and where the money transfer will be so they can collect it.”

If the victims have any doubts about this process, they can contact the Unit’s different available channels, Efecty’s working points or the Regional Centers facilities.

Rodriguez stated victims wouldn’t have to pay any overruns when collecting Humanitarian Assistance: “Always keep the receipt the clerk gives you. It is also important to go with your ID, because the clerk will require biometric identification; this gives full guarantee we will serve genuine conflict victims.”

Finally, he said indemnities payment to the victims will keep happening through Banco Agrario, but all the additional payments different from indemnities would be through Efecty.
