"Our reason for being are all the victims of armed conflict and for them we work every day" said Gonzalo García Bautista, Santander Territorial Director of the Victims Unit.

In commemoration of the National Day of Memory and Solidarity with Victims, the Territorial Directorate in the Department of Santander, in partnership with the Tables of Participation of Departmental and Municipal Victims, entities such as Santo Tomás University, the Agency for the Reincorporation and the Normalization and the Municipal Mayors have prepared a series of activities for the general public.

 

With the purpose of extolling and recognizing the courage of this part of Colombian population that has experienced lamentable events in the armed conflict, as established by Law 1448 of 2011 in Article 142: "On April 9 of each year the Day of Remembrance and Solidarity with the Victims and events by memory and recognition of the events that have victimized Colombians will be carried out by the Colombian State. " With this motive the people from Santander have decided to go out into the streets, to make environmental days, among other activities.
