Victims are commemorated inTurbay and El Mohán
With candles and a symbolic act of peace, the inhabitants of these Santander townships commemorated the Day of Memory and Solidarity with the Victims.
With posters, candles and messages of peace the inhabitants of the Turbay and El Mohán corregimientos, in Suratá, Santander, commemorated all their victims.
In the 80s and 90s, when in Colombia the armed conflict reached its upsurge, the townships of Turbay and El Mohán were strategic points because of their geography, they suffered every day that cruel war that took away family and land.
Today, with absolute tranquility but with nostalgia, they remember their victims and raise a prayer for their losses.
"It is important for us to commemorate this day, although we lost a lot, thanks to God we are alive," said Gregorio Hernández Niño, a Turbay resident.
With candles and a symbolic act of peace, the inhabitants of these districts commemorate this special date and ask the different entities present promptly in the processes to close this cycle in their lives.
