Unit has managed and guaranteed delivery of emergency humanitarian aid to the Embera Katío community of Chocó and Risaralda, and Katío and Chamí ethnic group

The entity has delivered 1.044 money orders to households belonging to these communities with an investment of $ 707.158.881.

The 11th Administrative Court of the Bogotá Circuit, through a judgment of May 6, 2020, ordered the Bogotá Mayor's Office, Government Secretariat, Social Integration Secretariat, High Counselor for Victims' Rights, Peace and Reconciliation, and the Ministry of the Interior and the Victims Unit, temporarily relocate, until the Government lifts the state of health emergency, the members of Embera Katío community of Chocó and Risaralda, and the Katío and Chamí ethnic groups who are in Tercer Milenio Park.

The Victims Unit, prior to filing the protection action, was already taking steps to guarantee emergency humanitarian aid to the Embera Katío community of Chocó and Risaralda and the Katío and Chamí ethnic group.

The Victims Unit has handed over to the Embera Katío population of Chocó and Risaralda, and the Katío and Chamí ethnic group that are in the city of Bogotá in a situation of forced displacement, included in the Single Registry of Victims (RUV), according to the historical information on humanitarian assistance transfers, a total 1.044 transfers to households belonging to this community with an investment of $ 707.158.881.

Similarly, during the social and economic emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic decreed by the national and district government, the Unit has established a series of coordinated actions to give continuity to the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the population; Thus, during the month of April (04-13-2020) money transfers were made to the victim homes belonging to the Embera community that remain in the city of Bogotá; and during the month of June (06-25-2020) in compliance with the guardianship ruling, the transfer of money orders was once again made to the entire population. To date, 282 transfers have been made that have benefited 159 families with an investment of $ 144.255.000.

The Victims Unit actively participated in the work tables that were organized by the district and national entities, for the coordination of joint actions to comply with the ruling, in which the Capital District, within its powers, assumed the temporary relocation from the Embera Katío community of Chocó and Risaralda, and the Katío and Chamí ethnic group.

The Victims Unit will continue to guarantee the Humanitarian Attention components that may be applicable to the families of Embera community in a situation of forced displacement and included in the Single Registry of Victims (RUV) that are in Bogotá and will continue with the efforts of the return or relocation process in compliance with the principle of voluntariness, security, dignity and sustainability, to contribute to the socioeconomic stabilization of the home, the improvement and consolidation of its life project, of the Embera Katío community of Chocó and Risaralda, and Katío and Chamí ethnic group that are related and identified in the guardianship ruling, the situation of vulnerability and the reconstruction of the social network of their community can be overcome.
