The Victims Unit identify 187 complaints of fraud to victims of conflict, In Cauca

The highest number of complaints filed for deception or fraud with the resources assigned to the victims are registered in Popayán.

In Cauca, the territorial of the Victims Unit established guidelines on the anti-fraud processes and campaigns that are carried out throughout the national territory, in order to prevent the population affected by the conflict from answering false calls from unscrupulous people who seek to obtain their remedies for compensation, among others.

Currently, the department of Cauca registers a total of 187 complaints, of which 164 have been filed as lawsuits before the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, "a process that ratifies the entity's commitment to protect the resources that by right belong to the victims of conflict in our territory”, said Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, territorial director of the Victims Unit.

Among the complaints filed by the Investigation and Protection Against Fraud Group, 42% (22 complaints) are registered in the capital of the department, in the municipality of Popayán.

 It was confirmed that 58% of the remaining complaints, officially filed, correspond to 11 municipalities in the department: Toribío, Guapi, El Tambo, Patía, Bolívar, Cajibío, Villarica, Piendamó, Argelia, La Vega and La Sierra, where they have been filed the complaints for the irregular facts presented.

Therefore, the processes assigned to the different prosecutor's offices are in the investigation, investigation and compilation of evidential materials.
