Mercaderes (Cauca) prepares to open a new point of care for victims
This new space will allow victims from the southwest of Cauca and nearby municipalities such as Bolívar, Balboa and Florencia; and Leiva, El Rosario, San Pablo and La Cruz, in Nariño, can receive attention and information.
In a joint effort by the Mayor's Office between Mercaderes and the Victims Unit, a new point of care for people affected by the conflict will be set up in this Cauca municipality, which will allow this population to avoid more extensive transfers and have first-hand the information that is needed for application and processes framed in the Victims Law.
On the matter, the mayor Fernando Díaz Salamanca, affirmed that “we receive with great joy this new point of attention, because apart from providing immediate attention to our inhabitants affected due to the conflict, attention will be extended to the nearby population and to the north of Nariño”.
For his part, the Cauca territorial director of the Victims Unit, Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, stressed that “this space will have an official from the Victims Unit to provide all the assistance and attention that this municipality and neighboring territories require of the Colombian massif, getting closer to the population affected by the conflict”.
The opening hours of this space will be subject to those established by the Mayor's Office of Mercaderes and a daily service of 45 to 70 people is projected.
