In Llano Verde neighborhood of Cali, special days of attention to victims of armed conflict are held for two days, in which the Victims Unit provides guidance on different processes to 500 people.

The activity, which began this Tuesday, is carried out by the Cali Victims' Roundtable and Llano Verde leaders, who built in a participatory way the list of people who will be served on this day at the Llano Verde Educational Institution, with biosafety protocols.

"We are here fulfilling a commitment of the President of the Republic, on his visit to this sector 20 days ago. We want to sit down directly with the victims, explain the entire route of care, assistance and reparation and resolve concerns on issues such as compensation and aid For that we are ready with the Valle territorial team", said Ramón Rodríguez, general director of the Victims Unit, who was present at the conference.

For her part, Nidia Landázuri, coordinator of Cali Victims' Roundtable, stressed that this care is done directly in the territory and that it seeks to be done with "effectiveness and quality, trying to evacuate all those pending and doubts that we have not been able to resolve at the time of pandemic".

During the day, leaders from Llano Verde and from the table shared a mural called "Tejiendo Anhelos (Weaving yearnings)", in which they exposed a quilt made with drawings that expressed their dreams, even in the midst of the conflict situations that the sector and the city are experiencing.

This quilt includes drawings such as that of a young peasant who lived through the horrors of war and who cannot read or write. His work was his hand reflected in paint accompanied by the word "peace", written at his request.

"Hand in hand with the Unit and its psychosocial team we have been carrying out a series of activities with children and we see incredible talents and dreams in them. We all bring our stories and we realize that we are not alone in them, which unites us The pain of the conflict has marked us all, but I continue to firmly believe in my community, in its values and its capacities", said Norma García, a leader in this sector.

Llano Verde is a sector located in the east of Santiago de Cali, where there is a large presence of families who are victims of armed conflict, largely from the Colombian Pacific. There, 2.591 returned families were relocated by the Cali Mayor's Office, along with others that were part of the so-called Jarillón Plan (high-risk area), as well as victims of the winter wave and vulnerable areas. The families' return plan was approved on August 24, 2015.
