Victims of Meta received food as humanitarian aid amid the pandemic

The Victims Unit, committed to caring for families victims during the health emergency caused by the new coronavirus, delivered food packages that alleviate the difficult situation they are currently facing.

In order to provide aid to families victims of conflict in Meta, who were most vulnerable due to social isolation, the Victims Unit allocated resources in order to bring 1.406 food kits that were delivered in the municipalities of Villavicencio and Granada, Meta.

Through the Territorial Directorate Meta and Llanos Orientales and complying with all protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19, and thanks to the support of the Mayor of Villavicencio, 1,206 nutritional packages were delivered in the capital of Meta and 200 in the municipality of Granada, to those people included in the Single Registry of Victims, and who have not received humanitarian attention, nor have benefited from the different State programs.

The people who received the food thanked the Victims Unit, for giving them the possibility of receiving the help they currently need most, such as meeting their food needs, which has been difficult to face.

Among other products, the kits provided by the Unit contain: rice, salt, pasta, oil, flour, brown sugar, chocolate and tuna.

For his part, Carlos, Arturo Pardo Alezones, director of the Victims Unit in Meta and Llanos, highlighted that, in this delivery in Meta, the departments of Casanare were added with 285 kits, Guaviare with 1206 and Vichada with 200 food packages for a total of 3,097 delivered in the region.
