In workshops carried out with biosecurity measures, the Central territorial directorate of the Victims Unit delivered kits with items donated by the Directorate of National Taxes and Customs (DIAN).

On this occasion, more than 600 victims from the municipalities of Funza, Mosquera and Madrid, in the department of Cundinamarca, benefited. Blanca Miriam Carvajal Martínez displaced from violence and who has lived in the municipality of Funza for five years, received a computer and a kit with clothes and shoes; aid that assures did not expect at the moment: "It is something that comes to us as a great support in this difficult time that we are going through and it is very good that we have the displaced in mind, the truth was a surprise and thank you very much".

With these donations, the Unit seeks to respond to the needs of victims within the framework of the components of the comprehensive care, assistance and reparation route, and they are delivered taking into account the emergency situations that arise in each territory. In this sense, the mayor of Funza, Daniel Bernal, who participated together with the municipal representative Fernando Tovar and the territorial director María José Dangond in one of the sessions, assured that “to build a territory in peace, we must recognize ourselves as a single family. Therefore, today we have accompanied the Municipal Ombudsman and the Victims Unit, in the delivery of 300 kits and five computers for families in this condition who reside in the municipality.

Likewise, the territorial director of the Unit, María José Dangond, was very satisfied with the receptivity of the local authorities. “It really moves us to be able to come with these aids in such a difficult time and to be able to contribute to alleviating so many difficulties. It is also important to point out that these donations do not have the character of humanitarian aid or attention, therefore, the victim population is invited not to request these components in the different entities of the national or territorial order”, said the official.

On July 23 and 24, 185 kits will be delivered in the municipality of Madrid, and on 27 and 28 in Mosquera, a municipality in which 200 victims will benefit.

This type of donations are contemplated within the framework of Law 1762 of 2015, which established that DIAN may donate “the goods seized, seized or abandoned in favor of the nation, to public entities of the national, departmental, municipal order, to the Public Force and non-profit non-governmental organizations, in charge of health, education, public safety, food security, disaster prevention and care programs”, and the Unit is one of these entities.
