Victims from the north of Valle receive food kits
The aid initially reached Ulloa, Alcalá, Ansermanuevo and El Águila and will continue in Cairo and Algeria.
In order to support people with needs that have not received government aid until now in this time of pandemic, the Victims Unit is arriving with a kit of food to 2.734 families in Valle del Cauca.
On a tour that began this Thursday in the north of the department, the territorial director of the entity in Valle del Cauca, Luz Adriana Toro Vélez, arrived in the municipalities of Ulloa, Alcalá, Ansermanuevo and El Águila, where 346 of these packages were delivered of aid in kind.
“We want to reach out with this support to vulnerable families and to our population victims of conflict, knowing that these times of pandemic are especially difficult. Reaching the most remote areas of Valle, we ratify the commitment and the presence of the Unit throughout the territory", said Mrs. Toro.
Tomorrow the turn will be for Algeria and Cairo. In total, these food kits will reach 34 of the 42 municipalities in the department and will be delivered from today until July 31.
Juan Antonio Peña, Mayor of Ulloa, stated that "he especially thanks these grants, which is an important accompaniment in this situation that we are currently going through".
The mayor of Alcalá, Gloria Stella Raigoza, spoke in the same sense, who appreciated the presence of the Victims Unit in the northern municipalities of Valle.
Delivery of compensation letters
On the other hand, the Victims Unit this week held a special day for delivering compensation letters in Cartago, in which 31 documents were delivered with which people who are victims of conflict will claim their compensation at Banco Agrario and which add resources for $ 452 million.
The conference included all the biosecurity measures and was focused on people over 74 years of age or with orphan or terminal illnesses, as indicated by the prioritization guideline of the national government.
In addition, this Friday, July 17, there will be a follow-up commission to Law 1448 of 2011 (or Victims Law), by the Congress of the Republic, which will have as its central theme the municipality of Cartago.
