Victims Unit ask victims to be on high alert and avoid fraud during preventive isolation
The Victims Unit reiterated an extreme alert so that all survivors of conflict do not fall for scams or deception when doing their paperwork and collections during this emergency.
A maximum alert today spread the Victims Unit among all survivors of conflict, officially recognized throughout the country through the Single Registry (RUV), so that they take all precautions when doing paperwork and other procedures before the entity and do not fall prey to scammers throughout the national territory.
According to Ramón Rodríguez, director of the Victims Unit, it is important to reiterate to all victims in Colombia that no person in the territories, except for the entity's officials, is authorized to speak on their behalf and that absolutely all the procedures are free through our virtual service channels.
The executives of the Unit learned about recordings and media channels that establish apparently deceptive or fraudulent procedures, which the Unit has never authorized and, therefore, such information should be ignored, which only seeks to confuse and deceive the community in general.
These and other situations are being analyzed by the entity's Legal Advisory Office to file criminal actions, if the particular case so warrants.
Any knowledge of an anomalous case involving a victim can be reported through the website www.unidadvictimas.gov.co directly in the Citizen Service tab requests, complaints, claims, suggestions and complaints or to the email grupocontrafraudes@unityvictimas.gov.co.
