Following the guidelines established by the Presidency of the Republic and by local and regional authorities, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Victims Unit in Cauca designed a care strategy for the survivors of conflict.

In view of the latest events of national and worldwide health emergency, the Cauca Territorial Directorate of the Victims Unit has been implementing contingency actions to guarantee care for the victims of conflict, in the different municipalities where the entity is present. The actions include a protocol of attention to the telephone lines to provide the guidance required by the victims.

"We are going through an alert situation in the care of ourselves and the whole of society, we must be in solidarity and abide by the measures that have been determined for the benefit of all, so that together we can positively advance and overcome adversities. As a Victims Unit We are currently continuing to provide the service to our target population, under parameters that we hope will be respected and certainly understood to the extent of their limitations", said Dan Harry Sánchez Cobo, territorial director of the entity in Cauca.

The official added that "our team of counselors from the regional Victim Assistance centers in Popayán and Santander de Quilichao, will be attentive to calls and emails that will be sent by notifiers and municipal administration personnel, in this way the lists will be assigned for the telephone service process. Calls will be received at the hours of 8:00 a.m. at the Victim Assistance points of the municipalities of Patía-El Bordo, López de Micay, Guapi and Timbiquí. at 10:00 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. at 3:30 p.m.”
