The member of the Departmental Table of Victims of Antioquia, died in a traffic accident between Medellín and eastern Antioquia.

The Victims Unit deeply regrets the death of Diego Alejandro Pérez Saldarriaga, a member of the Victim Participation Tables of the Municipality of San Carlos and the Departmental Table, after a traffic accident last Friday.

On behalf of our entire team of officials, we express our condolences to his family, friends, and members of the Victim Participation Tables to which he belonged and we invite them to continue exercising leadership for the defense of rights of the victim population and for the incidence in the public policy of victims, as a form of recognition and tribute to the work of his companion and friend.

Diego Alejandro Pérez Saldarriaga, was the representative of the victims before the Transitional Justice committee at the municipal table of San Carlos and delegate before the Departmental Transitional Justice committee of Antioquia, it was his second period of participation as a representative both at the table of his municipality as before the Departmental Table of Antioquia.

In his native municipality to the east of Antioquia, he was a great sports leader and recognized for his performance on the municipal soccer team, and he also worked as a program officer for the Land Restitution Unit and the municipal Mayor's Office on several occasions.

He participated in the last session of the Departmental Table for just three days and on Friday after finishing his three-day work with his colleagues back home in San Carlos, he had the accident in which he lost his life.
