Cali will have a Center for the Attention of Victims and a Museum of Memory
This was agreed by the mayor of Cali, Maurice Armitage, and the director of the Unit for the Victims, Alan Jara, during Jara’s visit to the capital of Valle del Cauca department.
The Unit for Attention and Reparation of Victims and the city of Cali join forces to ensure comprehensive, dignified and timely care for victims of the conflict in this city.
As proof of this effort, it was announced that the city of Cali will have a modern Center for the Attention of Victims and a Museum of Memory.
"We have been working with local authorities to deliver the Valle del Cauca Regional Centre for Victims to gather and meet the needs of the affected population," said Alan Jara, Victims Unit’s general director.
"There is only a couple of details to resolve. We agreed that the municipal authorities will resolve one of the issues, and we solved the other. The idea is that this year the Center will be operating to serve the community," explained the director.
"This is a very important to heal the wounds and ensure that the pains of victims are represented in a dignified manner," Alan Jara said about the Museum.
These important announcements were made during the visit and tour the director of the Unit for Victims, Alan Jara, held in the city of Cali and which included meetings with representatives of the Departmental Committee of Victims, representatives of international cooperation, officials of the entity and dialogues with the media.
