Valle Ombudsmen reinforce knowledge on taking statements

The municipal liaisons of victims of this department also receive technical assistance from the Unit, on the Territorial Action Plans (PAT).

The representatives of 42 municipalities of Valle del Cauca participated in a training offered by the Victims Unit to strengthen their work in making statements to victims of armed conflict, as well as on Law 1448 of 2011 (or Law Victims).

"This training is very important not only because many of the legal teams are new, but because in a time of pandemic, the tasks that all state entities can do through online mechanisms are very useful”, said the director. territorial of the Unit in Valle del Cauca, Luz Adriana Toro.

The official highlighted the commitment of these entities to advance their training and specified that this week a training was also developed with the victims' liaisons from all the municipalities of the department on Territorial Action Plans (PAT), “important local planning tools for land the projects aimed at the population victim of the armed conflict”, said director Toro.

In Valle del Cauca, it is estimated that 11.5% of the population is a victim of the armed conflict, that is, 522,330 people.
